How do my administrations and my Interactive Reports permissions work with Rostering?

In the DRC INSIGHT Portal, the data is organized by testing administration. However, Rostering does not contain references to administrations. If a roster is defined for a TA/Teacher in Rostering, they can access and display information for the students that are included in the roster via their permissions for Interactive Reports.

Interactive Reports is currently available for the following administrations:

  • Diagnostic/Interim
  • LEAP Practice Test
  • LEAP Connect Practice Test

In addition, Diagnostic/Interim uses Rostering to display student history and response lookup in Interactive Reporting.

How is student data updated and managed in Rostering?

Rostering uses a student-focused data model: Rostering maintains only one record for each student’s data. If the same student exists in multiple administrations, there is only one student record in Rostering.

Rostering has data for each student defined in Student Management. There is just enough data for each student to allow a TA to positively identify the student and place them into a roster.

Student data cannot be managed in Rostering. All adds/updates must be done via Student Management.

When new student data is added or updated in Student Management for the above administrations, the updated data for that student is automatically applied to Rostering. This is true whether the student data is entered manually via the Student Management menu, the Multiple Student Upload process, or via other automated processes, such as updates from eScholar.

How are Portal users mapped to Rostering?

Portal users that are added or updated via the User Management function for administrations with Rostering will automatically have Rostering capabilities as shown below. Note: any user that is defined at a school can be selected to be the TA/Teacher on a roster.

The Teacher Name fields are included in the layout to assist the user creating the file, or DRC staff researching file errors. The fields are not used in the upload process.
